Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world. It was once so rich that Concorde used to fly from Caracas to Paris. But in the last three years its economy has collapsed. Hunger has gripped the nation for years. Now, it’s killing people and animals that are dying of starvation. The Venezuelan government knows, but won’t admit it!!! Four in five Venezuelans live in poverty. People queue for hours to buy food. Much of the time they go without. People are also dying from a lack of medicines. Inflation is at 82,766% and there are warnings it could exceed one million per cent by the end of this year. Venezuelans are trying to get out. The UN says 2.3 million people have fled the country - 7% of the population.

Casting Call: Performers for a documentary fundraiser

Hi there!

I am hosting a fundraiser for my documentary - The Other Side of Carnival - to
secure funds to travel to a film festival that it was accepted into. The event
is called "An African Diaspora Experience." As it is Black History Month, the
plan is to highlight a variety of black cultures to an audience, which will
include screening the documentary.

The event will take place on Sunday, Feb. 20th from 1pm to 5pm, and I am still
in desperate need of talent! I am looking for anyone or any group that would be
willing to showcase a piece of their culture. Anything will work: live music,
dancing, singing/rapping, acting, poetry, storytelling, etc.

It will take place at the Tribal Cafe in Los Angeles.

There is no pay, but this an opportunity for free publicity, as you can sell and
giveaway items.

If anyone knows of someone or a group that would be interested, please message
me personally or send my information to them.

Thanks for your help!
