Can't wait til Feb. 26. Why? Because we're going to plant a forest...in Venice! And we're putting it where until recently there was a big chunk of asphalt. It will be so gratifying to see the students enjoying the land that we will give back to nature.
The Joyful Activist Club sponsored by Whole Foods Market Venice will be planting trees along with other school and community volunteers, supervised by Tree People.
Westminster Elementary School
Saturday, February 26, 8:45 am - noon
(please arrive early to get breakfast and planting tutorial)

(the garden is in the back corner of the school yard, towards the corner of Main & Westminster)
Check out what this new forest will feature:
-a river rock arroyo
-a meadow of native grasses/shrubs
-council seating for outdoor classes
-native trees
-an ecological storm water run-off zone
Bring your friends, kids, shovels, gloves, and good spirit as we host yet another amazing event in Venice!
And bring whatever else will make this more fun for all:
Musical instruments
Stilts
Costumes
Anything that will make you smile.
