Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world. It was once so rich that Concorde used to fly from Caracas to Paris. But in the last three years its economy has collapsed. Hunger has gripped the nation for years. Now, it’s killing people and animals that are dying of starvation. The Venezuelan government knows, but won’t admit it!!! Four in five Venezuelans live in poverty. People queue for hours to buy food. Much of the time they go without. People are also dying from a lack of medicines. Inflation is at 82,766% and there are warnings it could exceed one million per cent by the end of this year. Venezuelans are trying to get out. The UN says 2.3 million people have fled the country - 7% of the population.

More Info: QUEST FOR HONOR is the moving and compelling film
addressing the practice of honor killings in Kurdistan. The film had
its world premiere at the Sundance 2009 Film Festival and has
played numerous festivals and screenings across the globe including
Kurdistan & Iraq.

This brave film is an in-depth look at the "honor killings" of
women in Kurdistan and those who are fighting to stop the killings.
The film follows the women of the Women's Media Center and the
Women's Shelter and the men in law enforcement, government and
community, as they work together to try to stop these killings.

First time filmmaker Mary Ann Smothers Bruni ˆ who is an author
and photographer ˆ documents these horrible acts and the people who
are fighting to end these senseless killings that take place in
Kurdistan in her first feature film QUEST FOR HONOR. This
documentary feature film follows the tireless media center activists
Runak Rauf, Runak Faranj, and Kalthum Murad, as they work with
journalists, lawmen and members of the KRG to solve the murder of a
widowed young mother, protect the victim of a safe-house shooting,
redefine honor, and stop the killing!! For more info log on to:
